i have to use GSM modem . or 
any other device which can be controlled  by atmel microcontroller. but 
i dont nothing about GSM modem and its  interfacing with atmel.

Maybe start out with a relay. That's easier to control and interface to an  
atmel processor?

Is your project about interfacing a GSM modem or is it just about interfacing ?

i have look at my question i just realised that i have left some wording during typing. so sorry fo that.
   
  i want to interface a GSM modem with Microcontroller so that i can sand the sms of  status of my electronic circuit to any mobile number. so plz give me some data about GSM and its interfacing with microcontroller. i am student of Telecom Engineering and its the part of my 5th semester project. so plz help me.

Why not read the data sheet for the modem you are using?
