RE: [Andromeda_A6-ION] Digest Number 458

2007-08-22 by Eduardo Saponara

If you read the specifications on the DSI site, it clearly states that they are DCO's. In fact, the evolver's 'analog' oscillators are DCO's as well. DSI doesn't make anything with VCO's. DCO's are considered analog by most (juno-106, 60, 6, alpha juno) It isn't all analog either, (neither is the Andromeda) the envelopes, LFO's, sequencer are digital. The Moog voyager has analog EG's and lfo, so is more 'all analog' than the other two discussed. The andromeda does however have VCO's, which in general are more desirable, and is fully multitimbral. I'd love to hear the P08 though! I think it's a great idea and a great synth. "Posted by: "nanobotdex" jeffrey@arrogants.com nanobotdex Tue Aug 21, 2007 9:11 am (PST)
DCO's? According to this:

http://davesmithinstruments.com/other/prophet08.htm

The signal path is all analog. Dave's Evolvers use digital
oscillators and analog - the Prophet '08 is all analog.
