Shoot! You're right. They must have just updated the DSI sight yesterday. I had a Juno 106 and Korg DW-8000 (and a EX-8000), all with DCO's. Yeah, DCO's are weaker than VCO's. Yeah, the Andromeda does have digital components, or modifiers, but the path is analog, which is important. DCO's on the Prophet? I haven't had a chance to listen to the newly posted clips, but am anxious. --- In Andromeda_A6-ION@yahoogroups.com, Eduardo Saponara <elmacaco@...> wrote: > > > If you read the specifications on the DSI site, it clearly states that they are DCO's. In fact, the evolver's 'analog' oscillators are DCO's as well. DSI doesn't make anything with VCO's. > DCO's are considered analog by most (juno-106, 60, 6, alpha juno) It isn't all analog either, (neither is the Andromeda) the envelopes, LFO's, sequencer are digital. The Moog voyager has analog EG's and lfo, so is more 'all analog' than the other two discussed. > The andromeda does however have VCO's, which in general are more desirable, and is fully multitimbral. I'd love to hear the P08 though! I think it's a great idea and a great synth. > > > "Posted by: "nanobotdex" jeffrey@... nanobotdex > Tue Aug 21, 2007 9:11 am (PST) > DCO's? According to this:http://davesmithinstruments.com/other/prophet08.htmThe signal path is all analog. Dave's Evolvers use digitaloscillators and analog - the Prophet '08 is all analog." > _________________________________________________________________ > Recharge--play some free games.
