Alesis Andromeda A6

How do you guys think the Dave Smith Instruments Prophet '08 will
stack up against the Andromeda?  Based on that brief sound clip I
heard, it may sound a little fuller and more raw?

Thoughts?

I went to the site, but I could not find any clips of the prophet '08. 
Where did you find it? I would love to hear it.

Just a super quick video of the voice section.

Also, do a search on Matrixsynth.com to find some demos which a guy
did -- links over to vintagesynth.com threads.  Or, I guess you can
just search at vintagesynth, but the Matrixsynth guy does such a great
job of consolidating information.

I hate where they placed the pitch and mod wheels.
Get them off the panel and down onto a cheek block where they belong 
and where they can be better played.
It makes the synth look cheap.

Dana,

That's a valid point regarding the mod and pitch wheels, but I'm not
worried about the issue, as I really almost never use them anyway.

But, speaking of a famous mod and pitch wheel synth -- why did you
sell your Moog Voyager?  I am committed to buying another synth in
2007, and at this point, it is between the Prophet '08 (maybe -- need
to play it first) and a Voyager.

Isn't the Andromeda and Voyager an incredible combination?  I pose
this question to you, as several of your photos depicted the two even
stacked together on the same stand.
