Prophet '08 vs. Andromeda

Prophet '08 vs. Andromeda

2007-08-21 by Eduardo Saponara

Andromeda is the clear winner. The P08 is a budget synth. DCO's, single LP filter, Bitimbral, no cross mod, no individual outs (because only bitimbral) etc. Great synth over all, but the Andromeda is a luxury model incomparison. Soundwise I'd have to have them side by side, but they both sound good to my ears.

How do you guys think the Dave Smith Instruments Prophet '08 will
stack up against the Andromeda? Based on that brief sound clip I
heard, it may sound a little fuller and more raw?

Thoughts?

I went to the site, but I could not find any clips of the prophet '08.
Where did you find it? I would love to hear it.

DCO's? According to this:

http://davesmithinstruments.com/other/prophet08.htm

The signal path is all analog. Dave's Evolvers use digital
oscillators and analog - the Prophet '08 is all analog.
