Marco, Yes, I control all devices with one midichannel. No, I don't know a device that switches the fc-200 easy to another midichannel. I would like to have that possibility, but I think it the fc-200 doesnot have this possibility, pity.. So i worked out the earlier described system. Just connect the fc to the cybertwin and the vf's midi in to the cybertwin's midi thru. Try to find out howmany user patches of both machines you can control using the fc-200. And yes there is the possibility of "strange effects", I suggest keep the volume down, I've had my ears almost blown of by setting up sounds with the vf in the effectloop. I don't know the midi setup of the cybertwin but it is possible it doesnot match (perfectly) with the vf-1midi implementation, take a look at my email (date 28-10-2001) for the vf's midi stuff. Well, i'm not so happy with the vf's midisetup, take a look at the manual, page 103 (dutch version), you might be needing the program change map. It's not a perfect system, an example: I use 10 patches of my VF-1( which is in the gp-100's send/return) , they run along and are "finetuned" with the same numbered patches on my gp-100. So thath's 10 different sounds. Due to the midistructure of these machines I have "only" 128 user patches available/matching on both the vf and the gp which react to the fc-200. The assignable controls are still availlable. The vf only has 4, the gp has 16, the fc can handle more so you also can change things in your cybertwin if it has assignable controls. But it's a lot tweakingsounds to avoid "strange effects" in your effectsloop. It works for me, I think two seperated midi channels could be nice but it would have someother/the same implications/difficulties I've been reading something about the cybertwin on the net, looks nice but how much did you pay and how does it sounds compared to the vf-1 ?? Sjaak. >Thnx Sjaak! > >well the cybertwin has midi thru so that should be no >problem.. i also understand that the vf-1 has te be at >the end of the line.. should be no problem either.. > >but you control all devices via the same midi channel? >doesn't that mean that you have to reprogram some >miditables in the vf-1? so that patches respond to >other midi-commands? for example VF-1 patch 1 >responses to FC-200 bank12/button01 or something like >that? otherwise as you say all devices swith to the >same patch.. as the vf-1 will be in the effectsloop of >the cybertwin wouldn't that give some strange >effects?? > >what i was looking for is a device or a possibility in >the FC-200 to switch from midi channels with the push >of a button or pedal.. so that both the cybertwin AND >the vf-1 react to the FC-200 as they would when they >were alone connect to the FC-200.. > >so the cybertwin would react to channel 1 and the vf-1 >to channel 2.. and the FC-200 could switch between >those channels.. if you understand what i mean..? > >thnx > >Marco >
