Boss VF-1 Effect Processor

hi,
my VF-1 is defective.
When trying to access patches outside the range of Pa1 thru Pb31,
it hangs, does not respond to any key presses. 
Even toggling power does not help. Only way to revive it
is keeping both parameter buttons pressed while switching on power;
this does a factory reset.
Can anyone help or give me a hint where i can get it fixed?
