Boss VF-1 Effect Processor

I'm in SysEx hell right now...  I just got an Edirol PCR-50
controller, and I'm trying to get it control my VF-1 in realtime via
SysEx.

I created a Keyboard Multi patch today, and I want a knob on my
PCR-50 to control the Ring Mod Effect Level in the VF-1.  So I look
at the VF midi implementation chart, and here is what it says for
that particular parameter:

OFFSET(H)   SIZE(H)    DATA(H)
---------   --------   -------
* 01 28     00 00 02   00 - 64

Now, this is the first time I've ever dealt with this stuff.  My PCR
manual tells me how to send a master volume message by sending this:

F0 7F 7F 04 01 vL vM F7

That looks way different than what is given above for the Ring Mod
Effect Level... so what would the string for it look like?  Maybe
this?:

01 28 00 00 02 00 64

Somehow I don't think that's right.  I know this stuff is a pain in
the butt, but if somebody could tell me how to take the info the VF
midi implementation chart gives me and turn it into SysEx strings, I
would be eternally grateful.
