Re: VF editor/midiox/patches

Hi Fred,

I studied your patches and found that the file structure of it
differs from the way this is implemented in the program.
I checked with my own VF-1 and found that the "BULK SEND - TEMP"
command seems to send some information twice in
one dump.

This differs from an earlier situation, when i developed the program,
and I think it has something to do with an operating system upgrade,
changing the way data is dumped from the VF-1.

But here's a workaround for it. Load your file in the sysex-view of
Midi-OX and delete the first 175 bytes of the
file (-- this is everything between - and including - the first byte
F0 and the first F7 byte -- )
Note that the F7 byte is marked red, so you won't have trouble
finding it in the display.

Now save the file, and check if the filesize matches 423 bytes.
This file can now be loaded into the editor.

Please note that IT is still not possible to edit patches that are
not based on the GuitarFX1 algorythm.

I've converted some of your patches and they sound cool ! Keep on
sending them.

Regards
Bert

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
