Boss VF-1 Effect Processor

I've been entertaining the idea of picking up a VF-1, but can't find 
one new; I did find one site that said they have one, but they want 
$495.

Or should I look for something else? I hesitate to buy a used one, 
since they are so rare, I am concerned with repairs and parts...
