Boss VF-1 Effect Processor

The FCB1010 works very well with the VF-1 with the standard Behringer firmware 
(v.2.4.1 or later).  There's also a user-developed unofficial firmware (UnO) which 
you can purchase very cheaply from several sources.  The UnO firmware makes using 
the FCB1010 in "stompbox" mode very simple.  There are also several software 
editors available for download - these make programming a little easier. Check out 
the FCB1010 Yahoo group - there's always lots of good stuff in there.  I like the 
1010 because once you get past the programming it can be very flexible and can grow 
with your rig.
