Boss VF-1 Effect Processor

Hi,
I recently bought a VF1 to use in front of my preamp!!!
I actually have a Tc Gforce for post preamp FX (chorus delay 
reverb,...)
I would use it only for fx in front of preamp (comp, wah, phaser, etc.)

I would know if someone use the VF1 in this way. If someone have some 
tips or presets for this configuration, it will be great!
