Boss VF-1 Effect Processor

Stick player Greg Howard uses a SE-70 in a similar fashion.  He does an ambient thing 
where he has the slow gear patch up with an expression pedal assigned to the gate in the 
chain.  Somehow that triggers an almost infinite repeat he can play over.  Alas that feature 
is not availalbe on the VF1.
