Tap Tempo Possible on VF-1?

2001-12-24 by wainwright_ballard

Hi - I'm new the forum and have a few basic questions about the VF1:

I'm considering buying the VF1, but there doesn't seem to be any way
to do tap tempo functionality - is this true? I assume I can however
modify the delay time on the fly with an expression pedal...

A related question - the tempo value global? Can it be set once and
effect noy only delay but tremolo and other fx?

Thanks!

there is no tap tempo function on the vf-1, but you can set a
master bpm per individually programmed patch, to control every
single time related effect, even letting delay and wah-sounds etc
play a triplet feel, sixteenth notes etc to the song you're playing.
very nice! I play in a live band that uses live sequencing and
hard-disk tracks on stage(thus a steady, predetermined bmp
rate every song) and i can eg slap on a delay and letting it go on
over the music for as long as i want without it ever getting out of
tempo. beats tap tempo if you ask me, but it would be nice to
have it on there though.
you can however adress the bpm to an expression pedal, so you
can just 'fine tune' the bpm rate real time.
be creative!

Thanks for Tim and Matt for all the useful information! I think I
may be able to do what I need by using a midi solutions foot pedal
controller with a foot pedal...

fyi,

the VF-1 can receive tap tempo midi messages for controlling the
global bpm, but does not generate them...
