Boss VF-1 Effect Processor

can anyone please clearly explain the most significant 
advantages (and disadvantages) of both of these two midi 
controllers?

Well the the fc has an expression pedal and a control button plus you 
can conect up to 6 more pedals or buttons.

The FCB has 2 expression pedals no control button and you cannot 
conect any addicional pedals.

If you want to be able to change something within one patch the fc is 
a lot better than the fcb. But if all you want is to change patches 
then the fcb is the right choice for u.
