noisy patches?

noisy patches?

2002-09-27 by Derek Wyatt

Hey folks,

I was just wondering if anyone has any experience hushing up some
patches that aren't silent on zero input. My synth isn't overly
noisy when it comes to an empty input (ie. not really much buzz) but
the vf-1 amplifies what little there is. The phaser, for instance
can constantly be heard to phase the minimal buzz. It's a bit
annoying at times. Anyone have any experience with this and know how
to limit it?

Thanks,
Derek

The vf-1 does make a little noise sometimes, especially with the phasers and
flangers, I think its hard to get along this, 1-try changing the
phasers/flangers own parameters,2- watch the level indicators,3-use the
noise supressor, 4- use the filters wherever they are in the algo, 5- or
even the eq.

And one of the noisiest things is the compessor in the bass algo's.
