New user: Live sound questions

Hi!

I'm a new onwer of the VF-1. Not a new player, been playing since
1983 (eeek!). I had a GFX-700 before so I'm not too lost with the
unit. I miss the possiblity of using stomp boxes in front of the amp
sim like the GFX-700 could do, but overall, the VF-1 is better.

Here's my question: Does anyone here use it for live sound? How does
it sound at higher volume? I just sold a tube amp because I have two
small children at home and I really can't crank the volume, but I'd
like to use the VF-1 as a preamp like a combo amp because playing in
front of the computer pisses me off like you have no idea. And I may
gig in the future so I wonder...

Also, I'll be playing keyboard again soon, so I'm think of buying a
keyboard amp that would serve as a small PA for the synth and the VF-
1.

Now is it a good solution? Will the sound be good? I'm afraid of the
sound dynamics of the VF-1 live. So far, it can be great for
recordings, but through speakers, I hope it will deliver, otherwise,
I'll have to buy another tube combo down the line.

Any input about your experience will be much appreciated.

Cheers!

Sly

Sly,

I use my VF-1 live, but I use it as a front end processor for my
preamp (PSA-1). there is a song or two, where I use it by itself and
it does a really good job, but I really love my PSA-1 for building
tone, so mostly the VF-1 is a front end processor for me...

Great choice Steph, I'd LOVE to have a PSA1, but this is an expensive
choice for me now since I also have to purchase a power amp and a
cab. I know the VF-1 may not be best for amp sim, yet it's not as bad
as people say. It requires an aweful amount of tweaking.

Thanks for the info.

Sly

Hello!

I just bought VF-1 and I would like to use it just for effects. I do
have PSA-1 too. But the silence between presets in vf-1 is very
annoying for me. Is there any chance to repair that. Cause PSA-1
don't
have silence between patches. But when I use all together then psa-1
too have the same silence tlike vf-1 :((( I have vf-1
in effect loop to psa-1 and midi cable in psa-1 and then thru midi
out to vf-1. I tried many ways but always the same. Is there any
update for VF-1 to recover this silence or any any solution.

thanks

Tommy
