Boss VF-1 Effect Processor

Can anyone please assist?
I have just got my s/h VF-1, powered it up.....but no sound! There
seems to be no input level at all with front guitar jack or rear input.
The display looks fine and all knobs seem to work...but no signal!
I have checked obvious leads, jacks etc. 
I am using a modded power supply at 13.5 volts.....but it wouldn't
stop any signal, would it?
Any help would be good!

Try pressing the big knob to make sure you haven't turned the effects off.  The VF-1 can be set up so it mutes all sound when the button is pressed,  otherwise it just lets the signal pass.  It'll say on the front panel if effects are on or off.

I tried that....no good.....but thanks.
Could some input fuse or something have gone?

I just opened mine up to have a look.  There doesn't appear to be a fuse of any kind, but you might check to make sure the wires that plug into the mainboard are secure.
   
  I'm not an expert on equipment repair, so beyond that there's no more advice I can give.  I have noticed that with some pieces of gear, like the Alesis Quadraverb and the Art X-15 footpedal, wires come loose from their headers every once and a while.

> I worked it out! This silly fool (me) was using a DC adaptor instead
of an AC one! The display works fine with 14v DC........but nothing
else works...no sound.....I'm just glad I didn't seem to do any
damage.......working fine now with 12V AC adaptor!
