Here is my procedure for loading the patches available here into my VZ-1.
1) Connect midi cables (in and out)from computer or midi patchbay to VZ-1. Bomes Send SX 1.22 and the VZ talk to one another during loading.
2) Set all values in Menu 3 on VZ-1 to receive (enable) data, VC+OP, midi channels send and receive to channel 1 (one).
3) Open Bomes SendSX 1.22 on computer, set midi in and out to your sound card midi ports. Mine is SB Audity ZS Midi IO2 [DC80].
4) Load .syx file into Bomes Send SX from your folder which has the VZ patch files you downloaded from here.
5) Press YES to execute load on VZ and F4 on computer to send from Bomes Send SX, in that order.
6) Enjoy your new sounds in the VZ after loading is complete.
Sometimes it is necessary to turn off the VZ after midi exchanges as no sound comes out of the VZ, in my experiences.
Can anyone please tell me how to create a .syx file from the .vz1 files which the patch editing software creates? Or suggest a really good and easy patch editor for the VZ which creates these .syx files!
Those of you who own any of the more rare rom cards which casio made for the VZ series would you kindly be willing to share the contents of those cards to the rest of the VZ community? Please post those files for all of us to share and enjoy.
I have seen roms cards for The Emerson collection, The Wonder collection, EZ-VZ, and a few others we dont have here. Anyone add to this list, anyone have these rom cards?
