Casio CZ/ VZ/ FZ - Pro Series

And sadly, if you sell it, you won't get much for it.  So you might as well keep it and learn to make sounds!  To be fair, if you have a bit of practice, making sounds is not THAT time consuming.  But then again, I guess most would consider me an expert at it considering I've had over 10 years with my VZ.  :)

Can someone please post a list of sites which offer FREE (and hopefully GOOD) patches for the VZ?  I would like to compare my programming with that of others.  I recently heard some unidentified 3rd party sounds which was pretty unimpressive.  Though, at the same time, I remember making similarly lame sounds in the past.  The bottom line with this and most other synths is that it has it's strengths and weaknesses.  I think I make fewer lame sounds now because I know what sounds NOT to attempt using my VZs!

Also, does anyone else here have multiple VZ's?  They are so cheap you could have a whole rack of them for less than what some of these fancy new synths cost!

  the closest you're going to get to a piano is something that will make you 
  say "well, it sort of sounds like a piano."  It isn't really made for 
  pianos.  It's made for electronic music programmer nerds (like me) that like 
  to spend 3 hours staring at the display and pushing buttons to get the sound 
  perfect.  You can download sounds that other people have made but likely 
  you're not going to find anything terribly impressive as far as "real 
  instrument sounds" go.  If you want to mess with that, there's a program

  If you just want acoustic sounds, not funny space sounds, you're probably 
  not going to like it.  and if you try programming you're probably asking for 
  a headache.  The VZ-1 can make a lot of lovely sounds (much better than the 
  lousy preset sounds that you've been hearing), but it takes a lot of effort 
  to get there, and it's really no good for emulating other instruments.  
  probably you should sell it and get something that sounds realistic.
