Home made M/T cable

2004-06-03 by texhand

success at home made M/T cable with the help of this board. Success
with ability to save and load dump patches, and sequences. Failure to
verify, but it works anyway, and that is the point.. Reduced 8 pin din
cable to a midi 5 pin cable. Cut one end off.

1)takes two 1/8 mono phone solder type plugs from radio shack
2)expose about 6 inches of cut end of midi cable
3)copper grounding wire was used to common connect the sleeves of both
1/8 mono jacks , using extra telephone type wire and soldered(#4)
4) soldered tip of 1/8 mono plug to yellow wire on midi cable wire(#5)
5) soldered tip of 1/8 mono plug to white midi cable wire (#3)
6)then use a lot of black tape
7) switch plugs for record and play until you get it right then label.
I did not use any other wires or pins 7, 1, 6, 8, 2

I will try and find a multipin connector that will allow use of 1-7
for remote use at later date.. any ideas?

thanks to those who helped me make USE OF MY CASIO CZ 5000 M/T
interface!! most appreciated.
