Scott and Brian, Do yourself a favor and don't install NiCad's anywhere near the circuit boards, they leak. The newer NiMh batteries are a much better choice. They don't have memory and they will take a lot of abuse before they leak. It should be okay to charge them so if you use the synth for a few hours it would hold the charge for up to several months.
