Re: CZ1 Patches added to CZ-VZ-Files group's file area. Over 450 Patches!

2006-08-15 by narfman96

Hi Evan,

Welcome to the group! I was vague about where the files are
stored. Especially if you're a newbie. They are in the files section
of the "CZ-VZ-Files" Yahoo Group. This CZsynth group's file section
is 99% full so the patches had to be stored in this other Yahoo group
that basically was created for more storage. Note: Joerg if you are
listening it would be an honor if you post this zippie on your site.

These patches were edited and bulk dumped from my CZ1. I'm not sure
they will load up in a CZ3000 or a CZ101. Also the CZ1 has velocity
settings for the DCO, DCW, and DCA sections. These will not translate
in the other CZ's as they don't have velocity. Fortunately the CZ1
has a dump mode where the sysex transmitted is totally compatible
with the other CZ's. (sans velocity) If for some reason these will
not load in your CZ I will redo the dumps for non-CZ1 owners.

Evan, I'm also a synth repair tech and can probably help with you
display woes. The first problem that comes to mind is the cable for
the display. You're explaining a classic case of the connectors
vibrating loose, but without a looksee who knows... Feel free to
contact me for more help. We need to save all the hardware synths we
can! My CZ1 came to me with a 3 year old cola spill in it that ate
all the jumpers and component leads from a 3x4 cm secttion of the
motherboard and trashed the aftertouch strip from C3 down. I was
fortunate enough to repair the motherboard and rebuild the aftertouch
so that only 4 or 5 keys in the lowest octave are still flaky.

I don't think there is an actual Windows based editor for the
CZ3000. There are librarians for storage and transfer that run on my
Win2000 system I'm on here at work. Also CZDroid is a cool editor if
you have PC savvy and can get the Steem Atari emulator to work on
your system. It's kinda neat to see a P4 running in Atari mode.
Asteroids anyone? I use Unisyn and MidiQuest so I'm not an expert on
what editors are out there.

Have fun and enjoy, Narfman
