Hi Arthur ! yes, one can only save Samples via the internal disc-drive. If the FZ-1 is shut down the content of the internal memory is lost, so one always has to backup via the disc-drive. Only the FZ20M had an SCSI-Port. The disc drive uses standard 3,5 inch floppy-discs like they are used in computers.
