Too funny. Congrats on the tape echo, that sounds very cool. I guess as long
as you promise that the Casio will not wind up being abused I'll stop
harassing you. Can't speak for Summa though.......

there will be no casio abuse jon i promise- and rest assured if i
had the $
i would be a gear accumulator of the highest order with extra merit
for
nerdiness and obssessiveness ;) I'll share one recent [OT]
acquisition that
was, as I'm sure you'll understand, a big high. Here in the UK we
have a
chain of stores called 'Cash Convertors'- they are basically pawn
shops with
a squeaky clean shine (but as they say 'you can't polish a turd'-
although
apparently the late direcor Stanley Kubrick once suggested you could
if you
froze it first! but I digress). I pop in there every now and then
as music
stuff often appears. I popped in one saturday afternoon about
5.30pm (it
closes at 6.00pm and isn't open sundays). I wasn't expecting
anything and
didn't even have any cash or cards on me. I nearly wet myself when
I saw
it. Any absolutely mint Roland Space Echo RE-301 analogue tape
delay. I
quivered over to it thinking oh my god oh my god how much? do they
now what
it is? I saw a label on it that read 'Roland Video Editor'- my knees
weakened with joy, 'the f**kwits!' I thought to myself. These
things are
rare as hens teeth and go for for 400 ukp upwards. Not to mention
that they
sound beautiful. Shaking I found the price tag ... 120 ukp
WHOOPPEE!! I
tell you I was there monday morning waiting for the shop to open
ready to
fight anyone else to the death. Sure enough it had a few glitches-
this
things getting on for 30 years old. But I found a good local
engineer who
got it ship-shape (just needed new tape, head cleaning and
callibrating) for
another 35 ukp :) A bargain me thinks.

	yours
jim 'still waiting for the 50 quid TR808 in a junk shop' harris ;)

LOL!! Seriously though I do believe that keeping the VZ is a good
way to go
since the prices are so low for it. If you have to have one Casio
I'd pick
	that one, actually I'd pick 2, a CZ-1 coupled with a VZ-8m. Total
cost about
$350 US dollars. That's true synth value!! It's worth more as a
something
to play with than it is as $. But in all fairness I do realize that
there
are 2 kinds of people: gear traders and gear accumulators and I'm a
gear
accumulator. I've never sold anything ever, not once. Still have my
original
CZ1000 that I got when I was like 14 and I'm 30 now. But if you have
to let
it go at least find a good home for it....tears well up in my eyes
when I
see a Casio that has been abused!!

hehe- thanks jon- its never easy getting rid of gear. I've
had so
	little
time recently that I've only scratched the surface of the VZ8m
and
	it *is*
very interesting. Trouble is that where my stuff is going
means I
	need
sampling and multi-tracking more than interesting synths and
the
	only way I
can justify spending 899 ukp on the SP808 is by selling some
gear.
	However
the VZ8m is last on the list and it may not have to go. If it
	doesn't I'm
sure you'll all hear from me again with lots of 'how do you do
blah
	blah
	      blah'!

Nooooooooooooo!!!! Losing the VZ8m isn't worth the $100 you
might
	get for
it. Sell your car or house or something first, just my
opinion.

Hi all- much as I like it I'm getting rid of my VZ8m to
help
	pay for
	      a
Roland SP808EX (amazing box, check it out if you are
	interested- its
	      a
combined digital four-track and phrase sampler).

So 1x VZ8m with manual for sale, good condition- \ufffd100.

	            email me if interested
	            cheers
