STEVE: I am not looking at the manual, but as far as I recall it should be a simple matter of masking to get the desired bytes (for each of the parameters). Of course since midi data goes from 0x00 to 0x7f, larger values may be nybblized.

STEVE: So far as I recall, this is correct: you cannot do a send request for >>all<< patches with a single sysex command. You have to sent a request for each individual preset by location (A-1, A-2, A-3, etc.). One option would be to read from the "Sound Area" only and just send a program change command between requests. Each program change command puts the corresponding patch parameters into th "Sound Area," if I remember correctly.

STEVE: I am not sure what you mean here. Are you talking about recalculating checksums after data in a patch dump is changed? If so, I don't think CZ patch dumps use checksums.
