There is no buffer problem involved with the Commodore PSS program - it is written in 6502 to process the SYSx Dump - because the data is in nybbles - it compresses them into bytes on the hoof - otherwise the dump would not fit into the memory available, then uncompresses them going back to the PSS. It also calculates the checksum for the dump when the edit has been done.
The editor itself is in Commodore basic. I would probably have to do printer dumps to get the program- and I am not sure whether I can do this as it was written for the VC20 and I only have a printer that works with the C64. I may have prints of the SYSx dump (6502) which I will look for.

yeah the pss has a drum section and a few effects that are sent in the sys
ex , patterns and songs too!
the pss is a good little powerfull keyboard, its the closet thing to a cz
101 i find.
you ever got the time to post the source to your commodore-pss editor?
did you increase the buffer size for the commodore version?

The synth seal page is interesting - it is also the case that the YAMAHA pss
series have internal paramaters not accessible via the front facia. I
created a Commodore editor for those which accessed the extra controls in
SYSx - with similar results to the CZ page.
It was more a matter of the ranges of the existing parameters as opposed to
new ones.
I will put Thong's doc to files.

That's a handy doc, Lee. THanks for sharing it. Perhaps you can upload it to
the Files --> CZ Docs.
Somewhere there is (or was) a website that explained the deep structure of
the CZ voice, including the logic behind hidden parameters. Basically, you
can put data into a patch dump that you cannot enter through the CZ user
interface.
Found it: http://homepage. mac.com/synth_ seal/html/ cz1.html (See "New
Waveforms.")
