I can tell you what I do - I leave the AC power adaptor plugged in - and the residual current should keep the memory intact - I think you will also find that keeping batteries in the battery compartment will have the same effect - I have only had to reprogram mine once which was by accident - the other alternative of course is to have a RAM card.

My Ht-700 only holds sounds in the internal section for a few seconds after power down. Is there another internal battery, or a mod that will allow it to hold my programmed sounds?

I really dig this synth but I hate programming it every time i turn it on.
