yes gary, you are correct.

mine is an Omron G2E-187P -H-B 5VDC. and when i 'googled' it i already found out it's exactly what you say, a relay.

i was just about to ask it here what it does to the synth, and your info is more than enough. thanks!

btw, i already took out the relay to look for a spare part. 

although, when i 'googled' its availability, many of the searches that came out says 9vDC not 5vdc. will it make a difference?

i'll try to go the electronics hub in our city (manila) this weekend and try to look for it. i just hope there's one for me out there.

also, without the relay in the synth, will the synth still work? i'm using a regulated power supply that exactly put out 9volts at 1000ma.

sorry for so many questions. but your info is very accurate to the solution for my cz1000 problem.
