Hi Bill! I also have thought of building such a card. The 4 banks are OK, if there could be more that would be even finer. The most useful feature for me would be the use of a ferroram instead of a battery buffered SRAM. So you can get rid of the battery and lost sounds. I wanted to use 32kx8 Ferrorams FM18L08 from RAMTRON as I have some here and we have a successful design with them in the company I am working for. These parts are obsolete now (better: not recommended for new designs) but there are newer compatible parts, but I don't remember the new product number. I am open for discussions and maybe design help or cooperation. As a testing platform I only have the Casio Cz101. [I also want to make a Yamaha DX7 module also based on FerroRams some time...] Ciao Peter http://www.ullrich.at.tf http://go.to/datadial (synth addon) ________________________________________ Von: CZsynth@yahoogroups.com [CZsynth@yahoogroups.com] im Auftrag von Bill Tomlinson [tomlinson6050@...] Gesendet: Freitag, 07. Jänner 2011 00:03 An: CZsynth@yahoogroups.com Betreff: [CZsynth] RA-3/6 cards Any interest in a new run of memory cards? DON'T get your hopes up yet. Still in the planning stage. My goal is a quad-cart: Two switches on the outside to select four banks (like the old yamaha supercard) and an INTERNAL switch to configure it as a RA-3 or a RA-6. Decided NOT to bother designing a smart memory that would detect which (3/6) or allow banks from different synths to load on the same cartridge. Ideas? Suggestions? Flames? ------------------------------------ Yahoo! Groups Links The information contained in this e-mail message is privileged and confidential and is for the exclusive use of the addressee.
