> I joined your list yesterday :) I'll have to interrogate your brain there then! Hehehe...! > But I'm not the one to start those discussions from scratch. I rather wait and see... :) Ohh, why not?? You seem to have a lot to say :) > I'm not that much into math so I'm imgagine the results of synthesis in a more waveform based way. Yeah, me too, but I read a book once that almost made me understand the maths! > Anyway, all I wanted to say is, that CZ, VZ and Korg VPM Synths are basicly as much FM/PM synths then the ones Yamaha created.... Even so they may not have gained the same status DX synths have, the discussion about those synth belongs to your list as well. Especially the VZ is interesting, since that synth combines FM with ringmodulation. So the soundprogrammer can chose if the an oscillator pair is parallel, phased (1:1FM) or ringmolated. Yes, I think there are some interesting machines out there that generate timbres using versions of FM, but they may have been "forced" to label their methods as something else so that they didn't infringe on Yamaha's patent or copyright or whatever. I'm hoping we do get some users of these other machines. It'd be great to hear from a Synergy or Fairlight user!! Maybe Wendy Carlos!! :) > I think I know Tim from Daves DX List, he's the one with the ATARI users list, isn't he? Yes that's him. He's been very helpful with my Atari and FM machines. Adam
