I saw a moderator email asking a little about me so I'll keep it short. You just saw my reason for connecting with this group (just learned about it).
I'm into electronic music. I don't know if I have a genre at this point.. I'm fond of glitch and industrial... but i'm also into acoustic stuff so I'm kinda all over the place.. I'm in the Boston area.
I'm looking to explore sound manipulation through hardware rather than software/plugins.. I've got a few fun units like an Akai S612 and several Digitech RDS's which can do some pretty awesome glitchy stuff.. not as micro manageable as software but having things like noise gates and various outboard gear triggering all this offers surprises and for me that's part of the fun.. finding those happy accidents.
I love the sounds I've been able to get out of the CZ-1000 I have. It's able to make some really great sounds in spite of it not having a "filter" as one would normally expect and this different allows it to do some pretty wild stuff.
I am a fan of CZ-Touch for the iPad. It's random patch generation quickly demonstrates how wild the CZ can sound.. even if 99% of them are useless.. that's not the point. :) that 1% is great especially when you only have 16 internal and 16 cartridge save slots..
Thanks,
Caleb
