I was trying to load the 4 user CZ-230S patches in 96-99, with Dumpster. When I requested the CZ-101 dump of the presets, user memory, and cartridge, data was received. There is a .ini file with dumpster that passes the patch numbers for the dump. For the CZ-101 internal = 00 thru 0F, user mem = 20 thru 2F, and cartridge = 40 thru 4F. So I wrote a few extra lines for the other 16-patch banks, 10-1F,30-3F,50-5F and 60-63(4 user) to get all 100 patches out. Then with a MIDI sysex editor, I had to manually change the sysex 16-patch dumps to have the patch locations 20-2F, so the other CZ's would load them in the user memories. The seventh byte is the patch location. F0 44 00 00 70 20 XX --- , so XX would equal the location 20 thru 2F. I did discover how to load my sounds into the CZ230S. At first I could only load individual patches into slot 96. This was because the individual patches dumped from the buffer on the other CZ's had the location of 60.(60 hex = location 96 MIDI). So to load into 97,98,99 location on the CZ-230S,I just had to change the MIDI sysex patch location to read 61,62,or 63. I knew you could load 4 sounds into the CZ-230S, but I could not find any documentation on how to do so. The .ini file in dumpster helped me to decipher the MIDI mystery of the CZ-230S.
