VSTI CZ?

VSTI CZ?

2004-02-03 by captain hank murphy

If anyone hears about a virtual CZ that can take .syx patches,
please let me know.I think that would be excellent.

I have a cz101,cz1000,sk-1,ensoniq eps,moog rogue,kawai ph-50.

I've made music for 20 years.I've had a cz since 1985,
and I still admire its sound capacity very much.

Hi,
Maybe the native instruments FM7, it's a virtual DX7, it sounds very good
(it depends of your soundcard) and haves a CZ preset library, I never tried
to load *.syx but I think it's possible :

For a great CZ emulation, check out reFX's PlasticCZ! All 8
waveforms are available and the programming is very similar. There
are effects added that enhance the sound and thus make it sound
different from the actual, real CZ. There are no 8 stage envelopes
which are special to the real CZ. I haven't seen another synth ever
that has 8 stage envelopes.

You can find more info at:

http://www.refx.net/pro_PlastiCZ.htm?lang=eng

The CZ is my most favorite synth because it is so distinct sounding.
You gotta love the brassy textures that this box puts out!

Hi,

well, not even no 8 stage envelopes, but also more than half of the envelopes is
missing. What means that all the great ringmod stuff that is quite unique to the
CZ is not working with this thing. Therefore no replacement for the real thing...

> I haven't seen another synth ever that has 8 stage envelopes.

You must be out of this world ;) Check for instance VZ-1 and Microwave II/XT...

Quite a lot of synths have more that simple ADSR Envelopes and even more
softsynth do have more than 30 stages...

Tera, Cube, Absynth, FM7, Crystal to name a few of them

...Summa
