introduction to the group...

2005-01-02 by DM

Hey all,

Newby to the group, and with some encouragement from
the CZsynth moderator, here's a bit about my CZ
experience...

Started with a CZ-1000 that I bought in the late 80's
with an insurance check I got from a hotel whose
windows fell on my parked car (didn't do much damage
so the CZ was all I could afford with it). Was my
only synth for many a year (used it with a Boss Chorus
pedal for guitars), and it miraculously survived a few
gigs and drunken idiots knocking over the keyboard
stand. Got a CZ-5000 in '98, and a CZ-1 in 2000
(which I just replaced with a newer CZ-1 a few months
ago). Cut my teeth programming one, learned synth
basics with it, and despite having since acquired an
Alesis Andromeda, a Yamaha FS1R, a Roland JP-8080, and
a Novation KS4, the CZs still get exercised quite
frequently. Unique sound, easy to program, and still
fun after all these few years.

Check out a tune called "Wasteland"... the CZ is the
main bass sound in it when the heavy drums kick
in.(http://www.garageband.com/artist/Skig). Look
forward to further CZ discussions...

Take care,
Wadrad

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
