CZ5000 multitimbrality?

CZ5000 multitimbrality?

2007-08-10 by logicalhippo

Hey, I just got my shiny new (old) CZ5000 and I'm a little confused
about one feature that I'm pretty excited about. Anyone with a 5000
or a 3000 should be able to help me.
In MIDI "m. mode", how do I set the individual track's voices from the
front panel? It seems that I can change them individually on my
sequencer, or all at once from the panel. It would be really nice if
I could set up all 8 voices right from the machine. I read that "drum
machine" article in the files section, but those directions don't seem
to work on the 5000. Thanks for your time!

If I remember correctly, just change the keyboard transmit channel and
change your patches. (Local should be ON). Try that; if it doesn't
work, just say so and I will pull out my CZ-5000. --Steve

Just checked a CZ-3000 manual. Will post the relevant info in the

Thanks so much for the quick response! however, it seems that the rtf you posted was

Not sure what the problems is; I downloaded it and it opened right up
into Wordpad. (It is basically a screenshot.)

If you still need it, a CZ-3000 manual (pdf) can be found at
http://www.cosmosynthesizer.de/html/manuals.html . See page 33.

wrong line; I put the manual section down.
you'll find all Casio manuals here:

http://www.jz-server.de/forum3/e107_plugins/forum/forum.php

or simply http://www.casiologie.de (Vintage)

Thanks so much guys! Found the page in question! So the short answer
is there's no way to do it from the front panel, but an easy hack is
to put a midi cable from out to in and then change the voices that
way. :-D. It's great to find a group devoted to such a great synth!

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
