Finding more VZ sounds

Finding more VZ sounds

2011-03-27 by Ross Clement

Dear all,

Where can I find the VZ sounds from the demo video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=24QYv1j-vEs

In particular, where can I find Cliff's sounds, as in Cliff set-1.syx?

Thanks,

Ross

Hi... I'm the author of that video.

I got all the sounds from this and other Yahoo groups (downloading them at the Files section).

Anyway if you prefer you may download the whole collection from my Google Apps account at this link:

Thank you for that !

Is there some way to grab all the preset files (like a zip) rather than one at a time ?

Thanks

Yep. Select the files you want (by keeping pressed the shift key) and then right-click and Download...

The selected files will download as a .zip package.

Hi, Bob (and everyone else in this thread).
Cliff's zipped VZ banks can be found here: http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/CZ-VZ-Files/files/VZ%20-%20Sounds/ .
I believe there are 4 zipped files. There are other VZ files, too.

Steve

Thanks all.

Sometime after I posted this I noticed the CZ-VZ files group and joined it. I have a large batch of sounds, and am going through them.

The VZ is a different synth from what I expected. I didn't know that a single pair of oscillators configured as a "phase" pair were going to be doing waveshaping, not (phase style) FM!

The VZ can produce some very interesting "synth human voice" sounds. Those that I've looked at seem to do this mainly without using FM, but Ring Mod and waveshaping. Interesting.

Move to quarantaine

This moves the raw source file on disk only. The archive index is not changed automatically, so you still need to run a manual refresh afterward.
