=================================

the power supply is 9VDC, negative-tip, 500mA or more... a BOSS
guitar-pedal p/s will work fine.

i forget what the internal battery is, but it's probably a CR2032, or
similar.

Hello Fracno,

I think that the CZ1000 only uses standard C or D cells for it's internal
power supply (including memory backup). No need for lithium watch type
batteries. I could be wrong though.

Very likely true. I vaguely remember something about the user having
a few minutes to replace the batteries. I interpret it as the memory
being preserved on some kind of capacitor for a few minutes even
in the absence of the C cells.

PS. By the way Jon, nice to see you here.

yeah.... i'm thinking of the CZ-1, with the backup battery....

the "other" CZs might not have one....

Franco,

To quote from my CZ-1000 manual:

-------

Power Supply:

3 power sources

- Household power supply AC100, 117, 220 or 240V (+-10V) using AC adaptor (AD-5
option)

- Car battery using Car adaptor (CA-5 option)

- Dry batteries: 6 x D-size (also serves as memory back-up power supply.) Battery
life: approx 5 hrs (using SUM-1) (memory backup: 1 year)

-------

I'm using a Roland power supply right now. 9V 1000mA, inner sleeve neg,. outer
sleeve pos.

I don't know about the internal battery.

The manual says you have 10 minutes after you take out the D-cells before the
presets go bye-bye.

Good to see you too Max! It shouldn't surprise you to see me here though, as
all of us with good taste in synths know that the CZ was the best
synthesizer ever produced..well the best one that retailed for < $500 when
new anyway!!

Although the presets can be restored from ROM by pushing down the secret P
button while powering up. This also might fix any odd system troubles the CZ
might be experiencing. User patches are still toast though. No way to get
that back once it's corrupted.

The expansion memory cartridge takes a lithium battery.

Off-Topic: check out this Casio SK1 modification

2002-02-20 by Jeremy Pinkham

Hi, folks.

I'm not the seller of this, but I just received a link to this eBay
posting through the Casio SK1 Yahoo Group, and thought some of you might
find this interesting: a guy selling Casio SK1 keyboards retrofitted
with a modular patchbay and hand-painted to order:

http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem
<http://cgi.ebay.com/aw-cgi/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1516096687>
&item=1516096687

I'm not picking one up myself (already have an SK-8), but enjoy.
