Hi. Been searching the posts and seeing alot of questions about replacing the LCD display in these models, but no answers. Has anybody found a way of using a newer display?? Sombody with more brains than I must have worked out something. Help ????

i have just been replacing lcd with vfd which are much brighter neon letters give me the specs of the lcd and i can get a 1 for 1 replacement you dont have to mess about with adding 5v or a resistor for the led backlight and you can remove the dc to ac invertor for the backlight efoil so it does not suffer from the high pitched wine any longer

Thanks. but no dice: The VZ and FZ synths used a rare 64x96 LCD with an even rarer 4-bit interfac(LCD is treated as two 32x96 "pages". If none can be found hidden in some dark corner of the Earth, then my only chance is to fit a 64x128 module and design a CPU board to translate the signals.....likely too much for my old brain.
