Casio CZ/ VZ/ FZ - Pro Series

Hey everyone,

Just got around to trying to fix a broken CZ-101 that was given to me some time back. It powers up, but all the lights come on (and stay on), the screen is blank except for some gray bars, and there is no sound (not suprisingly).  I tried hitting reset to no avail.

I saw another post (on Youtube) where someone else described the same exact problem. Has anyone else encountered this?

I'm also curious about the connector ribbon cable between the main board and the power/amp board (JH on the schem). Pins 15 and 16 have continuity on mine, but it looks like they are supposed to be isolated. I can't find a bridge. If anyone else has a unit open, could you please check this for me?

bumping my own post here.... could someone possibly let me know if there should be continuity between connector cable JH, pins 15 and 16 on the CZ-101. Looking at the schematic, it seems like they should not have continuity, but mine do. I redid all the connections and checked the traces, but I cannot find the issue. Perhaps I'm missing something and there is an internal connection in one of the ICs?
