CZ-1 LFO Rates...?

CZ-1 LFO Rates...?

2013-02-25 by raradna@...

Hey,

I was wondering if anybody has ever worked out the corresponding values(in Hz) for the 0-99 modulation rate parameter on the CZ-1. I am creating a sampler instrument of many of this synth's presets, and this info would be really helpful for recreating the sound of the vibrato on a given patch.

Thanks!
Raphael

Did you check the CZ documentation? I know there are some tables there, but not sure there is a 1:1 correspondence.

Sorry. I just checked the table in the CZ sysex manual; it has a vibrato rate table (PVSD, PVSV), but I do see any frequency conversion formula. Perhaps with the table and the max, min, and some mid-point values you can generate a formula yourself.

There are other sites that might have the info already. I will look for the links.

If the table does not work, it is possible to view the waveform on
Soundforge, Wavelab, etc. and to measure the rates visually (it should be
easy to 'see' the LFO cycles modulating a simple waveform).
