New Casio CZ Patch Site - CZounds

New Casio CZ Patch Site - CZounds

2016-04-06 by mike@...

Hello fellow CZ lovers! I have a new site for Casio CZ patches inspired by 1980s synthpop bands. Check out audio demos for each patch set to hear recreations of sounds from Depeche Mode, Devo, The Human League, New Order and OMD.

There's an introductory Spring Sale going on in April and May, $3 off all patch sets. Plus the 'DrumstiCZ' collection of 64 drum and effects patches is free. (I used it for drums in all the audio demos.)

Hi, Mike,

I've listened to all your demos. You did a great programming job,
demos are very impressive and well done.

Thanks for free drum patches... Recently I have no budget for your
patches but I like most of them and would like to buy them one day.

Keep good work!

Best regards.

Thanks for the feedback Daniel! I'll have more patch collections out in a few months including a free one of sounds inspired by a popular synth band.

I purchased the SubstanCZe set (Human League, OMD ad MD sounds), and they really are as good as the demos make them out to be. Very much worth the money!

They're in Single patch 264 byte long files which I had to use Alfonso Hermida's "CZ Sysex Editor" from 2000 to get them to load properly (I'm using Windows 10). I briefly tried Sounddiver, but with no luck so far.

Hermida's program transfers the sound into the Edit Buffer, so you have to manually save the patch into the on-board or cartridge memory slot of your choice.

Oh, Casio - why did you make transferring these sounds so difficult! My dream is that one day Casio do a reissue instrument with parameters controllable by SysEx. It'll never happen. Maybe Korg will do a VolCZa!

Yep: casio should do a 'reface' like yamaha did and update the classic retro machines and correct the faults.
An rz with a working backlight, better sampling time and quality with usb stick sample/pattern memory!?
There's so much scope: why the heck keep making loads of gm keyboards when the retro ones are so sought after?
Great idea.
