Casio CZ/ VZ/ FZ - Pro Series

Hallo!!
It might sound a bit silly, but I have problems to dump sysex files from my computer to the cz1.
I�m using sysexsend ( simple piece of software that can load and send sysex files).
The synth is properly connected to the PC and sysex is enabled as well, the communication works, I can send f.e. play note messages. But it doesn�t respond to sysex files.
I also tried to send just a send request like F0 44 00 00 71 21 but I got no answer from the synth.  How do I have to send these files???

Have you tried starting sysex transmission from the CZ?

with almost all other synths, it would be a silly question. not with cz's.
the cz sysex
implementation requires a 'handshake' connection, so sender and receiver
have to
be active. it is NOT possible to simply dump sysex data to a computer and
send it
back! the send and receive messages are different :-((

if you happen to be using an atari st, maybe i can find an old dumper
routine
i wrote several years ago...

this is NOT the right sysex to dump cz data on a computer. your message
means
a cz-1 on midi channel 2 awaits sound data. the patch number and the F7 are
missing, however. i suggest you check the "guidebook for midi", that
peter.ullrich@...
should have on his page, or i can send you the 1.3mb file directly. just let
me know.

oops, I should have read it more carefully... you wanted your CZ to 
receive sysex....

Have you tried to set your CZ in Receive MODE... "Load MIDI DATA" ... 
Have you turned the memory protection off, it's the little switch at 
the rear of you synth ...

 The CZ-1 needs to have the sysex enabled, the memory protect must be
off, and the sysex message must be on the same channel as it was 
saved. All of the CZ-1 banks on my site are saved on channel 1. There
is also a small Windows sysex utility there. Be sure to back up any 
patches you have saved on the CZ-1 before sending the sysex. 
 The CZ-1 won't receive sysex if it is not enabled in the MIDI
menu, if the memory protect is on, or the sysex is on a different 
channel. I just tried this on my CZ-1. Are you dumping full 64 patch/
64 op memory banks? Should be 22016 bytes in size. When sent, the
CZ-1 Programer LED's will light in sequence. The CZ-1 should also be
able to receive 16 bank patch sets for the CZ-101/100/3000/5000,should
be 4224 bytes in size, and would write to E-1 to F-8 without changing 
the patch name previously saved there. And you should also be able to
send an individual patch 264 bytes, to the edit buffer.
 Has to be the memory protect, or using a different receive channel ?
Or perhaps the sysex utility is too fast for the CZ?
Let us know if this works.

Thanks for your help so far. But it still doesnt work. Do I have to send a receive request first 
and then the message, and if so what does it look like?? Acording to the sysex midi guide hellmuth sent me this receive request consists only of F0 44 00 00 70(for channel1) 20 +"Program area".  After sending this, the cz should respond, ( but he didn`t). 
I downloaded some sysex files from the cosmosynths.userpage.de . These files contain 64 patches. I tried to send just these files without the receive request--no answer!! 
I think I will have some funny days full of sysex next week!!!

Ever heard about "midi-Ox"??? It\ufffds a little Software
Utility for WIN 9x/2000 which transmitts and receives
all kinds of MIDI-Data (.SYX) in your Synth/Computer
and works !!!!
