Funny you should mention this. No one has ever asked me if I plan to
donate my source code. I'm just sitting quietly waiting for my spec
to be designed in. Then I can share my proprietary pricing. Let's
see, I have to pay for my computer, STK500, 1000 lines of code at the
going price; it's going to make that FrontPanelExpress 5U panel seem
cheap! :-J

Seriously, we don't have to label the default message as an engineer
would. We could put some 'cute' saying ... analog rules, long live
analog, analog synthesists make better lovers (oops ... too long), my
favorite analog synth, sample this!, ...

I agree with your music symbol observation. I'll probably never use
those either. I do use the hex and decimal (sideways). I've also
done some small O1 - O4 and I1 - I4 (sideways) to label outputs or
inputs.

Up and down arrows make sense. I put a C:\> prompt on the display
yesterday and found out my display doesn't have a \. Neither does the
one we selected. There may be other base characters to add. It is
easy to reprogram the characters so this may be no big deal. It is,
however, one of the reasons I suggested we tie the reset line to the
CVS to ensure that they are always synchronized.
