I'm not sure there is a consensus yet. I have my panel design in the files [DJB-CVS (6-1-06).FPD] and photo section. I am planning 16 pots, 8 analog inputs, 8 analog outputs, 4 switches, start, stop, & aux inputs, 11 LEDs, LCD, RS-232, MIDI in and out, and (for my personal use) an external I2C connector on a 5U x 5U panel.
