i've also been preparing a live setup with the evolver - i'm syncing 
the evolver to a G4 powerbook running ableton live. then from the 
evolver's midi thru it goes to the adrenalinn which also syncs to the 
same midi clock signal. very clean syncing and changing patterns 
manually on the fly is no problem at all. i can even route tracks from 
ableton live to the evolver's audio inputs for processing...  after 
playing with only a powerbook for the last year or so it's such a 
relief to have some more knobs to turn...
