Hi Emmanuel - Did you download the Evolutionaries patch set? A120 uses sequences of 16, 15, 14, 13 which multiplied together equals 43680. I wasn't sure how to check for the real number of notes mathematically. I think it has something to do with 16 = 2 * 2 * 2 * 2, 15 = 3 * 5, 14 = 2 * 7, and 13 is a prime, but I don't know where to go with it after that. (ok, you math head help me out here) What I did was write a BASIC program with four non-nest loops and check for my starting numbers 0, 0, 0, 0. That told me sequences of 16, 15, 14, 13 repeats after 21840 ( or half of the straight multiplication of all the numbers.) At any rate it goes on and on. It can be kinda organ sounding so I called it Endless Org :) I'd be happy to collaborate with you on coming up with long sequences. Currently I'm working on some patches that use the LFO with freq. at S16 and shape of rSA to kick the filter open. (Oh, you have to turn the PBM down to 30 and clock div to 2n. That gives 128 "notes" per sequence ( 8 * 16 steps ). You can then use the other LFOs sinc'ed to the clock to modulate pitches for different "notes". Kinda cool really. It make the Evolver real feel like a modular in a box. Let me know if you have any ideas. Cheers Later - Robert ps - I need to figure out how to record audio to my Mac or PC so I can do some sound bytes of this stuff. What I'd really like to see is an Evo-Ideas site with a collection of programming/playing concepts. ( SKI you got yer ears on? ) Want to do an ideas site? Each concept would have 1) explanation of the technique used 2) an Evolver patch [or group of patches] 3) a short sound file - MP3? >Math Question: With the OS2 feature that the sequencers can modulate >their speeds, what is the maximal length of a non-repeating sequence >(using the 4 seqs)? >For example with OS1, you can run together 4 sequences of 11 steps, 13 >steps, 14 steps, and 15 steps.
