I had a similar problem with mine right out of the box. This was in the first run of Evolvers (mine is S/N 70). It wouldn't even power up at all on the first try. It would take three or four tries before the LEDs lit and sometimes the patches would be screwed up. I tried a different power supply and even took it to different locations in case it was the power in my building. No luck. After a few days I wrote Dave and he did a board swap with me. It's been fine ever since.
