Evolver not initialized at first power -

Evolver not initialized at first power -

2004-02-28 by Robert Krueger

I've had my Evolver for a few weeks now and I've come to notice that when I
plug it in for the first time of the day, none of the patches are loaded.
If I check the editor, I can see every patch and parameter is initialized,
no name or anything. If I unplug it and replug it in, all is well.

This only happens the first time I plug it in after it's been off for a
while (a day or so). It's not a critical issue b/c it takes me 10 seconds
to unplug/replug and I have my sounds, but the fact that this is happening
at all is a bit bothersome.

Anyone else getting something similar?

I had a similar problem with mine right out of the box. This was in
the first run of Evolvers (mine is S/N 70). It wouldn't even power up
at all on the first try. It would take three or four tries before the
LEDs lit and sometimes the patches would be screwed up. I tried a
different power supply and even took it to different locations in case
it was the power in my building. No luck. After a few days I wrote
Dave and he did a board swap with me. It's been fine ever since.

Move to quarantaine
