RE: [Evolver] Re: Any chance for evolver 2?

2004-03-17 by Quest Pond

No i'm not asking for a voyager although i wouldn't say not to one but im certainly not paying 7 grand Australian for anything less then a car.
I'm not thinking of replacing the evolver or changing v1 i'm quite happy with it (although i would love to be able to slide notes on the sequencer per note). What I'm suggesting is a new machine to compliment it, using the same or similar box. Actually come to think of it im thinking a nice 'drum evolver' analog drum machine would be rather a special piece, sort of like waldorf attack but in a desktop unit and with real analog.
The reason i was mentioning moog filer is so that the new machine would have a different tone, one more suitable for bass as a compliment to the evolver.
Well as for the digital side i'm probably not going to use this too much but its nice to have it there. The poly is not really my thing as its a bit hard to ;control and as soon as anything gets put in a rack that's were is stays and I never end up using it. Im sure the poly will absolutely sound amazing that is for sure.

You know it's funny because for awhile I had a *problem* with the digital half of the
Evolver. Now that I actually have one, I like it a lot the way it is. On the other hand, it might
be interesting to see other variations, including an Evolver with all the knobs and a
keyboard. But the digital side sounds excellent IMO.

I think we know where Dave stands on this when he says he doesn't care to recreate old
Sequential gear. He's been there already. If Dr. Moog wants to revise and improve his own
old designs more power to him and I really dig the Voyager. I just can't imagine Dave
Smith doing it, not that there's anything wrong with Moog Music. I'm happy he has his
company name back.

What a minute...
What you're asking for IS a Voyager! :-p
